RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES THIS SUNDAY

SECOND COLLECTION THIS WEEK – CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Please be generous.

THE VIGIL CANDLE FOR THIS WEEK IS LIT IN MEMORY OF ANGELO & ANN FERRENTE AND GIVEN BY DOLORES SANTELLA.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for our sick especially Helen Breitwieser and all the faithful departed ESPECIALLY Brian P. Reilly and all who have gone home to the Lord and all who have worked & supported St Ladislaus Parish in the past 103 years.

CAN WE ATTAIN THE GOAL?
In the annual Financial Report given recently, I asked for all to prayerfully consider raising their weekly donation to try to make $2,000.00 each week.  I would like to thank those who did raise their offering, but we need more.  As you note above our ordinary collection was $1,145.00.  That is WAY short of our goal..  Help us to reach $2,000.00.  If EVERYONE HELPS it can happen. Only YOU can do it.

WON’T YOU HELP EACH MONDAY EVE AT 7:00 PM.
Each Monday evening a group of our parishioners meet in the church basement to make baskets of gifts that have been donated for the Chinese Auction at the Christmas Fair. Won’t you come and help them prepare for our big event of the season.  Your help will be greatly appreciated.

ATTENTION LECTORS & EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Please pick up your December and January Schedules in the Sacristy TODAY.

THANKSGIVING DAY MASS AT NEW TIME
The Thanksgiving Day Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am and will be a Family Mass in Honor of Thanksgiving.  This will be our parish family celebration of thanks for all our blessings.  The choir will sing and all are asked to bring Non–perishable food to be given to the St. Vincent DePaul society for distribution to the poor.  All are urged to come and give thanks as a parish family for our blessings.

WE NEED YOUR COOPERATION
In order to help keep a prayerful atmosphere  in our church so that those who come to pray may pray in peace and quiet – TALK OUTSIDE NOT INSIDE THE CHURCH.

RIGHT TO LIFE NOTES
Connecticut lawmakers have three times rejected attempts to allow doctors to help patients end their life.  Compassion and Choices, the major organization leading efforts to legalize physician-assisted suicide, then tried to win a victory through the courts, but a judge blocked their efforts to legalize assisted suicide by rejecting their semantic ploy of re-labeling it “aid in dying.”  NRL News, June 2010

CHRISTMAS FAIR NOTES
It is that time of year again:
The Christmas Fair will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010.  We need Chinese Auction items: Gift Certificates to local businesses – new items to be included in the gift baskets – and gift baskets donated will be appreciated.
Call ANITA GILCHRIST: 203-847-3252.

PRAYER AT THE TIME OF TEMPTATION
Lord Jesus, you know what temptation is like.  You know how strongly the wrong thing fascinates me, and how much the forbidden thing attracts me.  Help me not to fall.  Help me to remember my own self-respect, and to remember that I cannot do a thing like this.  Help me to think of those who love me, and to know that I dare not bring disappointment and heartbreak to them. Help me to remember the unseen crowd of witnesses who surround me, an to know that I cannot grieve those who have passed on, but who are forever near. Help me to remember your presence, and in your presence to find my safety.  This I ask for your love’s sake.  Amen.
